Smith returning to Mountains to coach Bell County

PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Former Sheldon Clark boys basketball coach Frankie Smith is returning to Eastern Kentucky.

 

 

He will be introduced Monday as the new head coach at Bell County High School.

 

 

Smith spent three seasons at Sheldon Clark from 2012-2015 where he went 63-24. He led the Cardinals to the 2015 57th District championship and an appearance in the 15th Region championship game in 2013.

 

 

The last two seasons, Smith has been on the Christian County sideline. He compiled a 56-11 record during those two years and led the Colonels to two 8th District titles and two 2nd Region championship games, advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2016.
