Ok, now that the defending 16th Region Champ, Greenup is out, who is the top contender for the 16th Region title?

You could make a legitimate case for several teams(Ashland, Boyd, Russell, Raceland, East Carter, West Carter, Bath, Rowan).

 

Most of the teams left have solid pitching, which is what matters most in the post season. Boyd's got the pitchers with the two lowest ERA's in the region. Russell's Jaeden Layne is throwing the ball really well right now and leads the area in K's with double what the next guy has.

 

I want to see how these district finals play out in the next day or two. Russell vs Raceland and Rowan vs Bath tonight, Ashland vs Boyd tomorrow. All good match-ups.

 

If I had to narrow down a list, I'd say the winner of Ashland/Boyd would be a slight favorite going into the regional tournament. Those two are probably playing better than anyone else right now.
