May 7, 20179 yr 10-15 years ago over the last 2-3 weeks a frost or two was customary. I was always waist deep in turkey hunting and remember this well. Dogwoods, redbuds, and azaleas in this region wouldn't bloom until this or the next week. I've seen both dogwoods and azaleas experience peak bloom 2-3 weeks ago. We've had a few warm springs weeks where temps have exceeded 80+ degrees. And it never fails when Mrs. C1 buys ferns and roses before Mothers Day weekend as is the case this year. $150 worth of plants at risk thanks to pulling the green thumb trigger early...it is what it is!!!
