16th Region Semi-Finals

16th Region Semi-Finals: Boyd Co. (26-5) v. Elliott Co. (24-3)

Rowan Co. (25-8) v. West Carter (25-6)

The 16th Region has been chalk so far with the top 4 teams (record wise) in the region meet Monday night in Morehead. The first game is a rematch of last years Championship game between Boyd Co. and Elliott Co. These teams played on 2/13/17 at Boyd Co. with Elliott winning 82-59. Boyd sports the most wins in the 16th this season with 26 while Elliott has the fewest losses 3 to go along with 24 wins. Boyd is lead by senior Hunter Kenser, but they have a good supporting cast freshman Blake Stewart is a very good point guard who lead Boyd with 22 in the game v. Elliott. Boyd also now has junior Reese Robinson who had missed 9 games before coming back in the District final. Elliott is looking for another regional title and their 3rd in a row. They are lead by senior Chase Porter and sophomore sensation Korbin Spencer and another good sophomore in Tanner Dickerson. This should be a very good game to watch.

In the second semifinal game will be between Rowan Co. and West Carter. This will be the 3rd match-up of the season for these two with West coming away with both games by scores of 80-72 and 62-57. This will be battle of strengths and the one who wins out will probably be playing in Tuesday's final. Rowan's strength is it's guard play lead by senior Michael Antrobas and sophomore Desean Woods. West strength is it's inside game lead by Hayden Roe and Ben Jordan. West also has sharp shooting guard Dalton Brown. This one should be a very good game as well. In my opinion these two games will be worth the price of admission. Good luck to all four teams.

I agree both these should be good games to watch even just a basketball fan not associated with any of the schools would enjoy these two games.

Should be two good games.

Game 1 has some excellent shooters.

Game 2 will probably be a grinder.
