I like the fact that UK went after a POTENTIAL talent at a younger age.

 

I've seen Macon play twice, and my impression is that he has incredible raw physical tools (speed, size, hands, etc.) but is greatly in need of being turned into a WIDE RECEIVER. He runs sloppy routes, doesn't use his body with the DB, needs to use his arms blocking, catch the ball out front, etc. etc. The college coaches can do this. Give them a great piece of clay, and they can mold it. Andre Woodson was that way, they are turning a thrower into a quarterback. UK has a TE from Nelson County (T.C. Drake #80) who was the same way, no football talent but great raw tools. He has been molded and will be good. Macon will be the same.

I must admit after watching him play against Boyle I dont see how he got offered. He is 6'5 but he only cought one pass and he dove for it, he must have dropped 3 passes that game. It is easy to torch the Boyle secondary, and a 6'5 couldnt even do it. Anyway congrats to him, if you work on those hands I am sure he will be amazing.

 

He had 3 or 4 catches against Boyle. His longest was almost seventy yards! That is getting torched if you ask me. He was also shoving your DB's to the ground like they were paperweights

He came from the opposite side of the field to walk boyle's running back down. The kid can go.

So is he going to focus more now on the weight room??

From everything I have heard, this kid will be the real deal when he is a Senior. He is good now, but will be great in two years.
