I wish I could have been there but had to be in Lexington today. Listened to it on the radio.

Great back and forth game.

Per the radio 8th grader Lexi Lynch hit two free throws in the final seconds to give Owsley the 2 points to win.

If I heard correctly on the radio through the static, Owsley's 6' junior Macie Gibson, who scored 68 points and averaged double digit rebounds in the two tournament games, was named MVP. And it sounded like the radio announcer said the Lady Owls' Lexi Lynch was named the Defensive Award winner but the radio signal was not very clear so I'm not sure.

I'm very proud of these girls. They got better as the season played out. Just a very young group! In some of the games I saw this year coach Davidson started a junior, sophomore, and three eighth graders. Two of those eighth graders, Lexy Lynch and Amile Murray, made the All Tournament team, with one of them, guard Lynch, winning the Defensive Player award. Junior Macie Gibson won the Most Valuable Player awared, averaging 34 points and 20 rebounds in the two tourney games. All players on the team return next year.

The title is the Lady Owls' second in the past three years. Now it's on to the region next week in Hindman. Good luck in the region!
