Christian County 62 Warren Central 53

Featured Replies

Great game, thought the Colonels would win by more. Both coaches appeared to not be satisfied with the officiating and wore them out the whole game. It appeared that they lost control of the game. Both teams will be contenders in their region.

I think Warren Central has a better team than I thought and what most people think. Christian County is still a good team even though they went through a rough patch.

Game was poorly officiated and the coaches did yell and get on them the whole night but the better team won.

^ Well, yeah, the better team won. But, I was surprised with how well Central competed. They got buried in one 20-2 run and couldn't overcome it. I think they got within 9 a couple of minutes into the 4th, but that's where the lead stabilized.

Both game were poorly controlled by the refs, you would think they would put their better officials in a big tournament like this. I can see Warren Central playing in the finals of the region vs BG.

County does that to teams... I went to their game vs. uha and it was a very close game until they went on one big run and stretched it from a 2 point game to something like 18. It usually happens when Ware gets open for 3 several times.

It was a prolonged run, owing more to a period of time where Central simply couldn't get a basket. Christian County scored the final 9 of the second quarter to turn it from 24-23 to 33-23. Two baskets were transition, two were halfcourt, and one of the halfcourt set scores was a three by Sebree. Central went 0/5 from the field, including 0/3 from three. County opened with six more in a row on three baskets before Potter scored for Central. By that point it was 15-2. Sebree made another three, and Ware capped it with a fastbreak dunk. Two threes for Christian County, seven made twos, spanning about 7 minutes of game time in which Central went 1/9 from the floor and 0/4 from three.

Ware was only 4/12 from three on the game. But him plus Sebree (4/9) shot a decent percentage, and that was enough. Honestly, Christian County won the game defensively during that stretch. They forced turnovers, and Central didn't find a way to generate shots inside the arc until the fourth quarter.
