He wouldn't be eligible next year either. He would have to sit out a season not counting the current one. Wouldn't he?

 

I think it is one calendar year. So if you transfer mid season, you would have to sit part of the following season up to the date of your transfer, and then you'd have to get your 10 practices in before you could play.

 

I'm not certain of this but I think that is how it was applied locally to a transfer a couple of years ago.
