Cooper 108 Fairdale 72

Recommended Posts

Cooper looked as good as they have looked all year. Consistent play seems to be a key factor for these guys. They at times seem to shoot themselves in the foot. But when they are on, like they were tonight, look out. I thought the aggressive play from their point guard Chris McNeil is something that has been lacking. If he continues to attack defenses like he did tonight, he brings an added concern to opposing defenses. Glad to see the Jags get a win at the KOB tourney.

Good learning experience for Cooper playing in a big tourney. Despite being relatively young they had Trinity on the ropes and lost the game on a buzzer beater and if not for a really bad 4th qtr the Christian Co. game might have come down to the wire as well. The Fairdale game was the best that Cooper has played all year. Excellent sharing of the basketball and the younger McNeil played very well, took care of the ball and ran the team well and was aggressive scoring. I think the biggest spark was having Runion in the starting lineup. Despite his size he is very strong bringing a little more toughness and having him paired with Hendrix creates problems defensively for many teams.

Good experience playing in a huge tourney and hopefully they can build on this for the Lex Cath tourney next week.

Go Jags!!

Could not agree more with this observation. Brayden Runion has played with a tremendous amount of energy so far this season and has lifted this team at times. He is capable of scoring the basketball and can defend with the best of them. Cooper presents a huge challenge for opposing teams. You know Sean McNeil and Adam Kunkel are gonna do what they do, but Dante Hendrix, Brayden Runion, Chris McNeil, Noah Shidler, Blaine Walters, and Tyler Ollier can light you up quickly as well. And don't look now, but the big man, Daniel Wasser is showing signs of being a part of this party as well. Best of luck Jags as you get ready for your Lex Cath tourney.
