Nice win for SC. However, the Cardinals really need to work on their scheduling. Too many cupcakes. I know most schedules are made 1-2 yrs in advance...but..this schedule is not going to help them later in the season.

All you can do is beat the teams that are on your schedule.... There's a pretty good reason for Fairlane's record..... They've played some pretty good teams over there in Ohio.....

 

As far as a weak schedule, Sheldon Clark has never dodged anyone.... You can take that to the bank.... We've always scheduled good teams....

 

In a normal year, Lawrence Co., P-Burgh, Belfry, etc. wouldn't be considered a weak schedule... We play the cards as they're dealt to us and make no apologies to no one...

 

BTW, what team do you support? But, you're right, the tougher the schedule, the better your team will play in the post season....

No I dont think that Sc is overrated. Anytime you go to Fairland and get a win you can call it a good night because of the cinstant flags. Sc would drive, and then get called back.

The Cards are a very good team this year IMO...in fact my prediction is that we will see Sheldon Clark making the trip to Pond Creek in November to play for the Region 4 title. If the Cards can beat Belfry in the regular season, though the Pirates will be my pick in that game, I still think the same 2 teams will play for the region 4 title but it would be in Inez I believe.

 

I know that there are some other good teams that could ruin my prediction...Middlesboro(they are legit and could win Region 4 not only play in the Region 4 title game) and Breathitt County has a great coaching staff and they seem to be improved from last year and could be in the thick of things. I would love to see Prestonsburg make a deep run in the playoffs but they have to improve a lot for that to happen. Leslie County could also get hot at the right time and pull a upset or 2 in the playoffs.

 

I know the playoffs are long way off and there is a lot of football to be played...it should be another intersting season for Class AA Region 4.
