Russell 28 Ashland 14 (Frosh)

in KY Football (High School)

Great win for the young Devils. The 1st half was all Russell, as they outgained Ashland 188-12. The Tomcats made a game of it in the 2nd half largely on the legs of Blake Hester. Josh Griffith intercepted an Ashland pass late in the 4th to set up Russell's final score, courtesy of Malakai Anderson.

Anderson, Griffith, and Blake Stump(Ryan's brother) are going to be special players at Russell. There are some other good ones in this freshman class, but those three, in particular, stood out tonight.

Russell Offense MVP - RB Malakai Anderson, 117 yards and 2 TDs

Russell Defensive MVP - DE Blake Stump

Ashland Offensive MVP - RB Blake Hester, 99 yards and 2 TDs?

Ashland Defensive MVP - DT Cameron Marushi
