The Professor Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Owsley County lost two starters to graduation and another decided not to play this year, but they have 6' junior center/forward Macie Gibson back and the returning point guard Emile McQueen who is a sophomore this year and has a year of starting and experience behind her. But the good news is there are several younger players that have had great middle school records ready to step up and fill the void. Amelia Murray at 5'10 is definitely going to help on the front court and Lexi Lynch and Kameron Campbell should assist at guard position. Also junior Trinity Burch is back at guard and freshman forward Shelby Creech should help at forward. It's a young team but with All Region and potentially All State player Gibson as the rock of the team to help guide them through the season the Lady Owls should be very competitive. Coach Charlie Davidson has coached the girls team for several years and has a district title to his credit (he has also won a district title as boys coach in 2010), so he's been around the game a while. 2016-17 Lady Owls should be fun to watch this season.
