I'm impressed. How did the Howard kid play?

The Jags kept him in check tonight. They alternated between he and another kid (Morgan but not last year's QB) at the QB position. They tried to run the first half, didn't work. Went to more passing the 2nd half, didn't work either. The Jags defense had something to prove after being blown out by a combined 86-20 count in their first two games and from what I could tell, they had a great game plan to slow Howard and Hubbard down and did just that! :thumb:

The Howard kid is hard to stop. NL must have got their ducks in a row...

He gave them fits in the first half last season at Leslie. In the 2nd half, they kept him more under control. This year Leslie has fewer weapons without Q Morgan (QB), Daniel Day (WR) and others. But to beat them you HAVE to at least contain Hubbard and Howard. Those 2 are a big play waiting to happen.

Hats off to the Jags for proving me right about them. They will just get better as the season goes along, and when they get Asher back, they should be even better.

Where's that thread about North and South Laurel's seasons being over? Seriously, congrats to the Jags on their first win of the season from Johnson County.

How did Adrian Wardrup play at QB for NL? (oh, and somebody needs to get WYMT an updated roster :D)

They might be able to get a little momentum going into the South game if they play their cards right (no pun intended).

Great game by the Jag defense, and both O & D lines. NL controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides, and their linebackers did a much better job this week as well. Far and away the best game that Ryan Brandenburg's had this season, and Sophomore Steven White had his coming out party at LB this week, making a very strong showing. I kept expecting Hubbard to get loose and break one, but it never happened. Contain was much better this week by the Jags.

I look for even more improvement in the next couple of weeks by the Jags, as they should have Asher back soon. Good Luck to both teams next week, and for the remainder of the season.

Adrian did great, he's progressing at a really good pace. Far and away the strongest arm at QB that I've EVER seen on a NL QB. With Adrian, Maggard, Cornett, and Asher coming back, NL's offense will have quite a few options.

Adrian is really coming into his own. He has so much upside that by the time he is a senior, watch out.

I said it after week 1, ... they had to get the ball into Maggard's hands more often. In week 2 they did, and the offense looked better. He runs hard, hits the holes, runs smart, and has no quit in him. My guess is that now they will put Asher back at TE/WR/ZB, a much more natural fit for him and it give the Jags more weapons when he comes back.

They have a HUGE game this week against Madison Southern. The Jags players I talked to said that they really didn't think Mad S. was that good before they played them last season due to their weaker schedule the first few games and Mad S. made them regret that in a BIG way in a week 4blowout win over the Jags at The Jungle in very impressive fashion. Now the Jags KNOW what Mad S. was capable of and I am sure will be ready to play. Don't know if Asher will be back this week, but if he is, it sure wouldn't hurt NL at all.
