The Tigers run their record to 3-0 on the season. Josh Derry had three touchdown runs including a 75 yard kickoff return. Marcus Berger scored twice and had an interception. Audrey Pelster kicked two extra points for the Tigers.

Next for the Tigers is Scott. Then the showdown versus Covington Catholic.

First, good job Tigers on the win.

As to the question about playing a full big school schedule, I doubt that Beechwood will ever do that. They just don't have enough bodies to match up to that type of a schedule week after week.

When is Beechwood going to man up and play a real frosh schedule that isn't simply based on how good they're each year. Good=let's play the big boys! Bad=let's play the small schools and feel like we're the best!

They're a 1a school with maybe 25 players when all are heathly. What good would it do them to play 6a schools with 50+ players each week? They simply do not have the numbers like they used to. Their current schedule has them playing 2-2a schools, 2-4a schools, 2-5a schools, and a 6a school, so they're not necessarily playing all small school.

Beechwood has 20 players on their freshman roster and that includes one 8th grader they needed to bring up for some size to help on the line.

Cov Cath only has about 25 players, Campbell only has about 25 players, Dixie only has about 20. Multiple other schools only have about 30ish players. Time for Beechwood to either man up or stop trying to randomly play up when they're good. It wasn't a few years back (when my cousin played) that Beechwood literally "changed their mind" started trying to schedule bigger schools after they realized they were good.

I ask that you please look at the rest of the rosters across NKY. If you do, you will easily notice that there are not many rosters over 30-35 players (ex. CCH only has 25). As much as Beechwood supporters want to say that it's a numbers thing, all you have to do is look at numbers of others. Sad thing is... Beechwood has been taking the easy way out for years saying "we don't have enough guys"

Explain how Beechwood being the only 1A school still playing freshman and JV football is taking the easy way out. I think Beechwood and New Cath are doing a great job as small schools continuing to play freshman ball. They have to get 45-50% of the boys in the class to play football to field a freshman team. If those 5A/6A schools had to get 45% of the boys to play football to have a freshman team, could they do it? Based on the numbers you posted, not even close.
