Conner loses to Newport Central Catholic in pool play at the Scott September Slam tourney. It was good to see NCC's setter back in action. She went down when they played at Conner with an ankle injury. Also back was Conner's senior April Feldhaus.

Completely different team from the first time they played NCC. Losing NCC's setter in the 5th hurt but this didn't seem much of a match.

Glad to see Freppon back. She is a great player. Did she miss the entire first match against Conner? Scores first time around were very close going five. The second match NCC won in two and only game two looked close.

Conner only had one practice and no matches the week prior to playing NCC in the Scott Slam so I think they were just a little slow to get going due to their down time.

Why no practice?

 

The coach gave them Monday off because they had won the Cake Classic the weekend before. On Wednesday she had to cancel because of a work conflict and Thursday they couldn't practice because of an Open House at the school. The only practice they had was Tuesday.
