Both of the Dillon brothers played very well tonight. I thought that Dennis would be more of a offensive but looks pretty good at the D-End position. Nathan is going to be a very solid back and its hard to believe that this kid is just a freshman while his brother Dennis is just a Sophomore. JC has depth at ever position this year it seems and how nice it is.:D

Good game by the Eagles tonight although i thought the Offensive was a little sluggish in the early parts of the game. The running game tonight was solid and very balanced with Johnson scoring 2TD's, Grimm 2TD's, and Dillon 1 TD. The defense was very solid tonight in picking Smith off 3 times but missed quite a few tackles which could be contributed to the pure strength and athletism of Smith. I think that he deserves all his rankings, did anyone else see him on a knee at the 50yd line and throwing into the endzone. This kid in my mind is the real deal but just isnt on a very good team, well good skill players but bad lineman. I think Marshall landed a very good recruit. Good game Eagles and good luck next week against Logan, WV at home in "The Nest" and good luck to the Pointers on the rest of your season.

I saw him on one knee, and stand flat footed and throw it 60 yards. I heard that Jared Lorenzon did the same thing when Highlands came to Sheldon Clark for a playoff game a few years ago. Both of the Dillon boys are young, and both played great. The future is bright. Most teams can't lose Taylor, and Johnson, and Tackett, and Ousley, etc., without dropping off. Coach Matney, as you can tell, has no intention of dropping off. Just reloading, and remember that one of our best, sophomore Chase Richardson, hasn't even played a regular season game. Ah.....

I would give tonights performance by johnson central a B+. JC played good and some players that had a good game. But there is still some little things that need to be worked on. Nothing that isnt critical, just some minor adjustments here and there. Once this JC team gets really clicking and playing to there potential, they are going to be hard to beat.

Little Dillon looked better in the varsity game than the freshman game.

I agree. That is true about what you said about Lorenzen when they played against SC in the regional finals. I remember during that game Jared dropped back and being hounded by SC defenders launched the ball down field about 70 yds to Derrick Smith(UK Tight End) for a TD. The ball went so high that it dissapeared out of the lights at SC, seriously, i was flat amazed.

I was glad to see JC's offensive line win a share of the offensive mvp award.

One thing I said on the thread about JC vs. NL was not committing penalities. JC commited a running into the kicker penality that lead to South Point's only td. If this game would have been close, that could have cost JC the game. There was a couple of block in the back penalities and a hold that brought some big plays back. I'm sure matney and his staff will address those issues in practice monday.

I wasn't there, but a friend whose kid played for SC told me about it. I never really believed him, but after watching Smith tonight, I do. I told my youngun' just wait until the end of the year, and see who Smith had his worst game against. If he makes it big, these kids will always have that.

Remeber the game against Leslie County when Tim Couch game to town? I could be mistaken but didnt he get sacked something like 14 times in that game?

I agree that penalties especially like that one can hurt the team but Taylor was just trying to make a big play so its hard to say something against that, and i also thought that a player from South Point changed his direction of attack by pushing him in the back as he went by. The roughing the punter penalty came on the first drive of the game but South Points only score of the game didnt come until late into the 2nd quarter.

sacked 3 times by the nose guard....and that nose guard also picked couch off once.

The only thing that i remember about that game was that JC picked him off 3 times as well. Maybe their is a trend going here with JC playing national notable QB's.

My bad, I thought they scored on that drive. Did anybody listen to the post-game stats, what was JC's total penalities and penality yardage?

Pretty sure there were 5 picks, but I could be wrong.
