Nice pre-season coverage by EKB-SPORTS.

The Belfry Pirates are ready to set sail on their quest for a fourth consecutive state championship. Here's our 'In the Huddle' preview of the Pirates. In the Huddle: Belfry Pirates | EKBTV

Those seniors interviewed handled themselves well on camera.

They also seem to all have Coach Haywood's philosophy down. Work hard, get a little better each day, focus on doing the little things right, good things will happen, peak at the right time.

LOL I love Haywood's pre-season interviews

For those who follow him here is a good conversion chart to use for all Haywood Pre-Season Interviews

"We are very young all over and have a lot of guys being asked to step in. We have a difficult task at hand"- Belfry goes 7-3 and reaches the Semi-Finals

"We are really going to have to bring a lot of young guys along and our Seniors need to step up as leaders. We will just take it one day at a time and try to get better each day"= Belfry goes 8-2 and reaches the State Finals

"We lost some great Seniors last year, but we have some guys I think can step up if they improve each day. We have a chance to be ok, but we have to work hard every day "=

Belfry goes 9-1, Finishes State Runner-Up or State Champs

"We do have a couple holes we have to fill and a few guys that will be hard to replace but I don't think we will be too bad."= 9-1 or 10-0 and clearly the State Champs

... and as we heard today

" We've got a lot of Seniors and the community needs to expect that we will need some time to grow to get back to the level we were last year"=

Belfry might be one of the best small schools in the Eastern U.S.

HAHA

and yes those 5 Seniors have clearly heard 4 years of Haywood interviews of how to handle the media LOL

Panther Sports Network, I mean EKB, is getting better at local sports coverage. Now if they could only get Frosty Davis off the air.

Frosty cracks me up

Last year they did the joint broadcast of Belfry vs. Pikeville with both radio crews. That was entertainment gold seeing Frosty react to calls only to have the pretty level handed Bobby Normal correct him, while trying not to make Frosty look foolish.

Frosty: "That has to be a Pass Interference Call! Not sure how the ref could miss that call!"

Bobby:"The ball was deflected by the LB'er, someone could correct me if I am wrong, but I think that takes away Interference as an option"

Knowing good and well Bobby knew exactly what the rule is HAHA

With that said, I actually like the rest of the Panther broadcast crew and think they do a pretty solid job..just Frosty...well his Maroon Tinted glasses are almost as thick as Dicky Martin's from Ashland
