It honestly doesn't sound like he did anything wrong. If he was in fact pushed, and he felt his life was threatened, then he was justified in drawing his weapon. Also, notice how when he was ordered to get on the ground he complied.

 

Was it the smartest idea to go to the rally? No, but he has the same right to be there as anyone else.
