Sunday severe weather outlook

Featured Replies

Looks like for the next couple of days we will be seeing some summer like temps and dry weather. That looks to change on Sunday. Most of Kentucky could see strong to severe storms. Mainly east of I-65 late Sunday morning into the afternoon. Early evening and into to Sunday night the chance seems to spread to most of Kentucky. I'll keep and eye on it.

What's going on off the coast of the Carolina's and Georgia at 8pm? That looks wicked.

As of now nothing much. These maps show the energy in the atmosphere that could produce strong to severe storms. If anything develops in that area it should be watched closely.

The strong to possible severe storms look to be widely scattered in nature this afternoon. For now it looks like most of these storms will be mainly north of I-64. Heavy downpours, hail and lightning look to be the main threats.

The severe weather threat has grown some. Parts of Kentucky are now in a marginal risk area for strong to severe storms. As I mentioned this morning, most of these possible storms will be centered around the I-64 corridor. Heavy down pours, hail and high possibly damaging winds could happen.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Louisville, Jefferson County area.

Somehow, every one of those cells that were moving North to South managed to break up before hitting us in Bardstown. Lots of thunder, but no rain. We kind of need it.
