Thoughts on Switching From Rawlings to Spalding Softballs

Just wanted to get everyone`s thoughts on this.

Just to clarify, the official ball will be a Spalding Dudley Thunder Heat-Polycore.

.......well lets just hope going to a new ball, that they don't scratch up as easily as they do now. If this was MLB, hogh schools would go through about 2 dozen balls a game.

Current sanctioned balls are not durable at all, but the KHSAA does not care about longevity of the mandated equipment…it's about the contract terms and nothing more. When you have a salesman at your office, buying you nice lunches to buy their product, but you don't actually use the product or test it….I believe that is by definition "free lunch"

The Worth balls they had been using up until a few years ago would last a while. These "rags" that Rawlings puts out were done if they hit concrete. I never was a fan, and of course they were more expensive.

Dudley puts out a decent product. Teams I play on in the summer have been using them off and on for years. If the HS balls are the same quality, then everything should be fine.
