Sorry for the late report, I don't have the book with me plus I just got home from cutting the outfield grass at our field......yes finished cutting about 11:15 P.M., got to get field ready for JV Tourney tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Dixie's Sam Yake and NewCath's Haley Meyers in a pitchers duel tonight, as Yake K's 13 and Meyers 9. The Breds squander a bases loaded, 1-out opportunity in the 6th and 1st & 3rd in the 8th.

Red Colonels Kaylee McGinn with a solid single to center to bring home Maggie Fields with the winning run. Fields led the inning off with a single to right and advanced to 2nd on a fielding error, NewCath's only error of the game.

BTW, nice to meet Mr. Fields tonight at the Dixie concession stand. :thumb:

Also, for those at the JV game, that was DLG 3.0 in center that made that running over the shoulder catch in the right-center gap in the bottom of the 4th to keep the Red Colonels scoreless. :ylsuper:

Awesome catch!

Looks like a long layoff between games, first report in a long time??

Had that one for a triple off the bat…..like the ball had a string on it. She had zero chance of catching that ball. Great play.

My plate has been extremely full the past week.........Between making a schedule (on paper!!!) for 14 teams, on two fields, with 3 games per field, teams playing DH's, on two nights for summer league......getting JV tourney scheduled, and collecting nominees, stats, and tabulating voting ballots for the Coaches Association Awards.....besides my regular day gig, I've been a little busy.

I'll be back to my regular reporting this week. :thumb:

I show her my glove and tell her....."back in my softball days, this is where triples came to die."
