NewCath 1st - Breds manage one base runner, on an Alex Burkart

Holy Cross 1st - Courtney and Kaitlin Turner get singles sandwiched between each out.

 

NewCath 2nd - Lexy Breen leads off the frame with a double over the centerfielders head and advances to 3rd on an E. Jenna Fryer hits a one hopper to Tucker at short and she fires home to get Breen at the plate. NewCath manges to load the bases with two-out on a FC, Kacy Zimmerman single to right, and an E6, but the inning ends on a PO3.

Holy Cross 2nd - Meyers strikes out the side.

 

Now the fun begins.....both halves of the 3rd inning take a full hour and 5 minutes to complete, as NewCath scores 5 runs sending 10 batters to the plate on 2 hits, 4 walks, & 1 error. Holy Cross plates 9 in their half sending 12 to the dish on 6 hits and 5 errors.

 

NewCath 3rd - With one out Bin & Meyers walk, Breen reaches on E6, Jenna Fryer 2 run single to left, Katie Kelly walks, Zimmerman RBI single, Watts reaches on an RBI FC, Kelly erased at home on FC5-2, Burkart RBI walk, and the inning ends on a bases loaded K, but the Breds plate 5.

Holy Cross 3rd - the inning starts with a Natalie Sparling bunt to DLG 2.0 who makes a nice pick, but the throw :facepalm:. Alehia Tucker RBI double to left, K. Turner reaches on E4, Maddie Hyde single to right, C. Turner 2-run single to center ( Hyde scores on E6 throw), Ashley Meeks reaches on a FC, Abby Broering RBI single to right, sandwich in 2 K's and error and a couple PB/SB and then Sparling RBI bunt single, Tucker RBI single and an E4 throw, scores Tucker all the way from 1st base, before a K ends the inning. :isurrender:

 

NewCath 4th - with one out Breen reaches on E8 and is erased on the Fryer FC6-4, but with 2-out the Breds rally for 4. Kelly singles to right-center, Zimmerman walks, Jaden Watts RBI HBP. Kathryn Schreiber drives on to center that is lost in the sun resulting in a 2-run hit. Alex Burkart collects her 3rd walk of the game and Kennedy Bin works an RBI walk before the inning ends on a GO1-3 with sacks juiced for the 3rd consecutive inning, however we are knotted at 9's.

Holy Cross 4th - LO-4, K, K.

 

NewCath 5th - Breen single to center, steals 2nd, Fryer Sac-bunt, Kelly RBI single to right-center, steals 2nd. Following a K, Watts single to left, but inning ends on PO-2.

Holy Cross 5th - Broering single to left and moves to 2nd on a Piper Macke Sac-bunt 5-3, Broering goes to 3rd on a GO4-3 and inning ends on a GO5-3.

 

NewCath 6th - Burkart beats out a single on nice diving stop at the 3rd base bag by Sparling and her throw eludes the 1st basemen allowing DLG 2.0 to advance to 2nd. As Kennedy Bin is batting I specifically told DLG (TWICE!!!), "if it's hit to shortstop you don't run until she makes the throw". Well guess what, Bin hits hit to short and DLG who had a big jump, runs right into the shortstop and is called out for Interference. :no: Bin is out on a FC4-6 off the bat of Meyers, but Breen and Fryer both are walked and come home on an E4.

Holy Cross 6th - GO6-3, K, E6, FO7.

 

NewCath 7th - Watts walks and following a K, DLG redeems herself with a beautiful Sac-bunt to move Watts to 2nd. Karolyn Schreiber pinch-running for Watts now, scores on an E6 for the Breds final run of the game.

Holy Cross 7th - Meeks single to center, FC6-4, CS2-6, K.
