Game at Boone Co . 5 Innings

This game was all Rebels tonight.

Purnell was on the mound, getting his final tuneup before district play.

Purnell picks up his first no hit shutout of the season. It took Purnell about 3 batters to get his game going, after that it was mostly strikes. After sitting high 80's in previous starts, quite possible he hit 90+ several times tonight.

Holy Cross pitched a kid who kept the Rebels off balanced with a nice slow ball, but with some walks and key hits, Rebels scored early and didn't look back. I think I heard it was the kid's first varsity start.

Peter Westhoff picks up his first varsity hit . Congrats

He pitched a no hit shutout? In other words he threw a no hitter?

Maybe I should have use the kid's slang , he pitched a no-no. You can pitch a no- hitter and still have the other team score. Boone won a district game last season w/o getting a hit.

There has been people throw a no hitter and lose.

Five times in modern Major League history (since 1900), a team has held its opponent hitless, but lost the game.

I know this, I never said otherwise. You said he pitched a no hit shutout, and I was just saying in other words meaning he pitched a no hitter.

Lol, even in kids slang :-)
