Are the Bulldogs primed to repeat as 6A State Champions?

 

Coach Wolfe has a tough task replacing a talented and accomplished graduating class. 30 plus seniors move on many of whom are set to play on some level. Returning two players who started most of last season I wonder who steps up to help

DE - Stephon Mayes

CB - Nathan Hobbs

 

JV Dawgs have been solid and young talent is there. Experience is the glaring weakness.

Trinity lost less seniors, but the ones they did lose filled some key roles. Still the JV Rocks were undefeated (including double-digit wins against Male, St. X, and Elder[Cincinnati] JV teams). I would give Male the pre-season #1 as they are the returning champs, but I like Trinity's chances to take back the title.

 

St. X remains a threat as always.

 

Manual, Scott County, and others are waiting in the wings, but I don't think this season will see the Big Three having a down year.

Absolutely not.

 

Male's year to run the table and win the title was 2015 and they capitalized.

 

They lose way too much to repeat.
