Lyon County (5th District Champion) vs. Hopkins County Central (7th District Runner-Up)

Henderson County (6th District Champion) vs. Christian County (8th District Runner-Up)

Madisonville-North Hopkins (7th District Champion) vs. Crittenden County (5th District Runner-Up)

Hopkinsville (8th District Champion) vs. Webster County (6th District Runner-Up)

 

The games are listed in the same order as they appear on the bracket (per Chris Jung on Twitter). Predictions for 1st round and beyond?

Round 1 Henderson, Lyon, hoptown, madisonville winners. Round 2 Henderson and Madisonville winners. Championship game Henderson by 4 over Madisonville.

That's my 1st round upset if you can really call it an upset since they just beat them about a week ago. I also think Webster County has some upset potential over Hopkinsville since Hoptown plays all zone and Webster shoots it so well. My predictions for the tournament:

Really? You think Webster will knock off Madisonville-North Hopkins? I see the upset potential but I didn't think anyone would be bold enough to call that one. Does anyone think Hopkins County Central has a chance against Henderson County?

Refresh my memory but these are the same 4 teams that were in the final four last year? Henderson not as good as they were last year, Madisonville and Hopkins Central are both a little better, and Webster is just as good as they were last year? It should be a Henderson vs Madisonville final. But Kentucky should have beat Vandy.

I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out but yes these are the same 4 teams. The only difference is the matchups are switched around. I agree with your team assessments. Now that the team I cheer on is out of the tournament I'm just hoping for some good exciting basketball.

Henderson isn't as good as they where last year, but what people don't realize is they are better on the defense side of the ball. They are quicker and bigger because last year they didn't have Owens and Gilbert in the post and really they didn't have a post defender because outlaw was a run and jump didn't like playing the post or defending the post. They just can't score like last year team. This year teams as a couple quick runs like 18-4 on christain but that was the only one last year team would have had three of those runs in the same game due to awesome three pt shooting.

I think Madisonville will guard Websters shooters and will win a close game could see overtime. Henderson game could be close but Henderson is health and has been since district started and when they have all 5 starters and 3 bench players they are a 25th or 26th ranked team in state. Henderson has two really good guards they should be able to beat the press so ill say Henderson by 12 plus.
