Coaches and kids were disappointed past couple of weeks after a big winterstorm hit Kentucky, cancelling or making coaches reschedule games for a later date. With the 14^th region being “In the mountains” a lot of the games that were canceled will more than likely not be made up as district games are need first due to seeding.

The 14^th Region looks to be a 3 team race between Knott County Central, Leslie County and Breathitt County. Knott Central Lady Patriots have yet to play Breathitt County but have fell to Leslie County earlier in the season. Leslie County has defeated both Knott Central and Breathitt County. Breathitt County, actually has only 1 region loss and that’s to Leslie County.

Leslie County Lady Eagles are 8-1 vs. Region Opponents; Breathitt County Lady Cats are 13-1 vs. Region Opponents (Breathitt has won 15 games, 13 of those are against Region Opponents), Knott County Central is 9-2 vs. Region Opponents.

The 14th is weaker this year than it's been in quite a while in girls basketball, maybe the weakest of all the 16 regions . But someone has to represent the region at state and my guess is the same as yours in that it will be one of these 3 teams.
