January 31, 201610 yr Author Sunday morning update. It seems that the severe weather threat has grown some. Especially for parts of WKY. That area is now in an Enhanced area for severe storms. Cities included in the Enhanced area for Kentucky are Eddyville, Murray, Mayfield and Fulton. The rest of Kentucky is in a Slight risk area to about the I-75 corridor. East of I-75 is in a Marginal risk area. Extreme EKY may see some thunderstorms but they may not be severe in nature. As of now the primary threats look to be damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes. While some may see some showers and thunderstorms during the day on Tuesday the main threat time looks to be Tuesday afternoon into the evening hours. As always please note we are still a couple of days away from this event and the timing will be fine tuned as we get closer. I'll post updates as we get closer. If the severe threat level remains the same or increases by Monday. I will more than likely go into Severe Weather Threat mode then.
