Updated Maher Rankings 1/3

I never meant to slight anyone. I think Mason county has a great team. I never said their schedule was "easy". But, I can't call it challenging either. Before the LexCath tourney they only played one team (Ryle) that will ever be seriously discussed here. The remaining teams you list are good but they also have NINE games against teams outside of the top 50. Just my opinion

Don't basically all schedules have they games? Teams just can't play top 10 all the time.

Sure, they all have some of those games. But I don't think most top 10 teams play that many games that have little chance of being competitive. I'm not a coach, but I'd prefer my team play competitive teams night in / night out. That doesn't mean they have to be top 10 -- but I think top 50 would be possible.

As I said before... great team that legitimately has a chance to win state. Good luck rest of the season!

Except that you have to play your district opponents every year, whether the game is competitive or not.

Agreed. But that's only three games.

Mason only plays one District game, Bracken.

What factors determine these rankings?

The inputs into the model are the games scores from every game, home court advantage. Strength of schedule is implicit in the calculation in that you have to know how good your opponent was to know how good your performance was in each game.

Mason only plays one District game, Bracken.

If that's the case, you're helping make my point. But, it doesn't matter anyway. Good luck this year
