silo11 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Remember these rankings will be based on current play and not just the record or one good/bad game. No big changes from last week although McCracken Co is pushing to take over the no. 2 spot. Here are the rankings as of 12/28/15. 1. Paducah Tilghman (9-0) The Blue Tornadoes continued their undefeated season with an overwhelming win at Warren East. Right now they have 5 players averaging 10 ppg or more with Devon Hart leading the way with 15.1 ppg. 2. Murray (9-3) Murray is just holding on to the 2nd place ranking in region 1 after losing their last two games by a total of 7 points. The Tigers lost their first two games in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classis to John Hardin and Henderson County. 3. McCracken County (8-1) The Mustangs lost their first game of the year to Mason Co in a thriller. The Mustangs came from 16 down to take the lead with 1 minute left, only to let Pig Williams take over for Mason Co. in the final seconds. Mustangs are showing they are a real contender in Region 1 play. 4. Graves (7-4) Graves won 2 of 3 games over Christmas week with two more to go. They are currently playing in the Rock Holiday Classic in Orlando, Fl. Some players are beginning to step it up to give Graves other options than Vogt. They need to continue to develop other options. 5. Marshall (7-2) Marshall won both its games during Christmas week and are set to play 3 games in Marlin Christmas Classic in Panama City Beach, Fl. 6. Carlisle (4-3) Carlisle lost to a not so good Shelby Co team (3-7). They will play 3 games in a Carbondale Tournament this week and need to play well to prepare for region play in January. 7. Ballard Memorial (4-6) Ballard has not played very well as of late. They have been soundly defeated at the hands of Murray, Montegomery Co. and Barren Co. The play in the Gateway Holiday Classic this week. 8. Calloway County (4-5) Lost to Ballard Memorial and Barren Co. Defeated Crittenden Co. handily. Plays in the Martin Lions Club Christmas Tournament. 9. Fulton County (3-6) Won their first two games of the Itty Bitty Trees and Trends Classic against Christian Fellowship including a win over rival school Fulton City. They lost to Trinity Whitesville and they don’t play again till Jan 5. 10. St. Mary (5-6) St. Mary continues their win one lose one ways throughout the break. Continue play in the First Southern National Bank Christmas Classic. 11. Mayfield (2-5) Had a big upset over University Heights and then lost big to Paducah Tilghman and Russellville. Host the Mayfield Holiday Shootout this week. 12. Hickman County (2-8) Lost 3 close games this week in a Christmas Classic. They have now lost 6 in a row. 13. Fulton City (5-6) Lost to Dawson Springs by 2. Don’t play again until January. 14. Christian Fellowship (2-10) Play again on Jan 2. 15. Community Christian (0-9) Just not enough talent on the roster to be competitive, but they continue to play hard each game. Edited December 29, 2015 by silo11
Rez Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Murray actually won their first game of the Traditional Bank Classic, dismantling West Jessamine. That is the only time I've seen them, and they looked really good. I'm surprised they lost their next two.
westernky Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Did anybody see the Henderson/Murray game? I'm really surprised by the outcome.
silo11 Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 I was too because Henderson has played horribly at times this year. I thought it would be a blow out by Murray.
westernky Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I think Murray has been streaky this year. But I still expected a much different outcome.
CORNBREAD Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Carlsile getting it together. Won the class A championship in carbondale tournament. Beat Murphysboro, IL in first round, New Madrid, MO in the second round. Beat huston, a memphis, TN team by 25 with a running clock in the championship game. All I can say is watch out.
silo11 Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 I hope so. They seem to be playing much better. We will find out Jan 26. They have a month to continue to improve before a real test in the region.
lovin_war Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Some teams are looking good like Paducah, Murray, and McCracken. Carlisle has they players back and are getting better. Graves seems to be falling apart, I heard over the break they have had 3 players either leave or let go during Christmas break. Not sure all the details but something isn't right over there.
