Of course you all have heard the news about Officer Ellis who was shot in the back of the head just the other day in Richmond, has died. He was burried this evening close to the Adair/Casey County line.

 

Officer Ellis was a 7 year veteran and was fixing to be promoted to detective.

 

He was investigating a robbery that had happened at a gas station, when he arrived at the house, the gunman told one of the other people involved in the robbery that if the cop came in that he would shoot him, he went and hid in the back bedroom, the guy let officer Ellis in and took him to the back bed room, once in the bed room, officer Ellis was shot in the back of the head.

 

I've heard two different stories on how he was shot, I heard as soon as he entered the room the guy shot him, then I heard that officer Ellis was fixing to leave the room when the guy shot him.

 

I actually work, right across the street from the complex's where this happened, maybe 5 mins or so away if that.
