Sure was, he played TE and LB.

Good story. Sounds like a great kid.

The thing I remember about him, besideds the fact that he was a very good player, was in the game I saw him play, he was stiffarmed to the ground by a smallish QB. Bottoms got up and just smiled and nodded his head. No trash talking, no running of his mouth, no pointing and gesturing... just smiled as if to say 'Nice job. You got me this time. But I'll be back!'. That impressed me. Then, I was told, that he was the first one to seek out that player and shake his hand after the game. He played hard but sure came across as a solid sportsman and good kid.
