Owensboro Catholic falls into softball losers' bracket

Owensboro Catholic defeated

Defending state softball champion and top-ranked Owensboro Catholic has been knocked into the losers’ bracket of the 12th annual fast-pitch State Tournament on Friday at Skyview Park in Jeffersontown.

Looks like the Lady Aces have put themselves in a tough position from which to attempt to repeat as state champs.

The fans and players for O'Cath seemed genuinely shocked following their 1-0 loss to Henderson Co. Hats off to the Colonels and Stacy Whitmer for a fantastic effort. They are the fave at this point, IMO, but they will have their hands full with Ryle in the morning. Kirsten Allen is ridiculously good.

O'Cath did recover nicely with a win over Reidland, and they still look like a good threat to make it out of the loser's bracket.

Good to hear. They've always represented the 3rd region well.

Kirsten Allen is ridiculously good.
