October 14, 201511 yr For anyone coming to the UK game Thursday expect somewhat of a city-wide traffic jam. The stadium lots are normally used by UK employees and students. UK originally communicated 'business-as-usual' in terms of work schedules to employees. Empolyees are park at Rupp arena and be shuttled onto campus. Obviously, some are not happy about that. The Thursday game seems to have caught some private lot owners who make money on game-days by a suprise (do they not check the UK schedule?). And, of course, its Keeneland time. Alumni - a major thoroughfare for rush-hour traffic traffic during the week - will be in 'game-day' configuration - i.e. it will not be available to general traffic. This will be a major impact to traffic. Though last week's traffic nightmare for the Luke Bryan concern was mostly on Tates Creek and Alumni and surrounding streets; this Thursday night game will hit the heart of the city. Maybe get familiar with alternate routes and bask streets and do not just rely on cellphone navigation tools. So plan accordingly.
