ND lost on there senior day and so did NCC, ND looked to have more energy than NCC in the second half, ND still #1 till someone beats them.

NCC lacked energy in this game. I got there 15 minutes into the first half and ball control was all NDA. NCC defense did not take possession but instead just cleared balls, often to NDA players unmarked at midfield. NCC was disconnected from front to back. NCC would attack with limited numbers and when possession was lost the ball was moved very quickly up field because no midfield presence. NCC will have to improve their coverage unless they want to play defense in front of their keeper. NDA played a disciplined team game and they have the weapons to finish given so much time in possession. NCC did not support the offensive weapons they have and therefore they wore down over the course of the game chasing back to the defensive end due to no slow down in midfield. Good luck to both teams going forward. I see no clear advantage for either team. The regional championship is wide open.

You hear all year that ND is up and down well yesteday they were up and played well. When ND had the ball they knew what they wanted to do, NCC did that at times but seemd to just want to clear it and not play the ball to their teammates. Some of the NCC girls who got beat i think normally dont and i think they were suurprised.

 

No loses are good unless you learn from them so we will see if NCC has learned anything.

Want to point out a non-soccer observation from Monday's game. It was NCC's Senior Night ... moved from Saturday's rain out. Kick off was 4:30, so they held the Senior intro's with their parents, etc., after the girl's game and before the start of the boy's game.

 

The vast majority of the ND parents and players hung around to honor the NCC seniors. Very classy. With the time it took to set things up, get organized, etc. it would have been very easy for the ND supporters to slip out and head home. Most didn't. Thank you.

EasyG, you make a great point and it was very classy by the ND coach, players and parents. I know a lot of the girls know each other but they didn't have to stick around and they did.
