As usual, these two teams delivered a thriller.

 

SL's Morgan Alsip and NL's Abby Sears locked horns in a classic, with SL finally getting through on Sears in the top of the 12th when Brittany Justice led off with a double, was bunted over to third, then scored on a sac fly to center by Jamie Wyatt.

Sounds like a good game I hate that I miss this one.

They'd have to be considered the clear favorite, but SL fans would have to be concerned about fatigue and an emotional letdown after yesterday.

I really don't think that South Laurel will be any more fatigued than Middlesboro, but complacency could be a factor after yesterday's win.

 

Middlesboro has a shot, but SL probably has too much.

Just found out that this was the longest game in SL history, and of course the longest game in the storied series between the two teams.

Longest for SL I think so. But NL played A 15 innings game in the state one year. I think it was 1999?

Yeah, North has played quite a few marathons. They played a 14 inning affair against Louisville Butler in the state finals in 98 or 99.

South should win against Middlesboro. I believe the coaching move of the tournament was moving Arthur to right field. She made two catches that WERE CRUCIAL against North. Two big plays that don't need to be overlooked.
