Ryle 7 Lloyd 0

Featured Replies

Senior Giovanni Devita went the distance and threw a one-hitter at the Juggs with 9 K's and giving up 2 walks. Both teams played well in the field. We were very concerned when Lloyd pitcher Dustin Driffmeyer (spelling?) was removed suffering from hopefully just heat exhaustion in the 4th inning. I think it was 6-0 when he had to be taken off the field by the local life squad. He appeared to be conscious and OK and we wish him the very best. It was an anxious time, especially with Mr. Cooper's sudden death yesterday.

Good job by the Raiders and congrats to the Juggs on making the regional tourney.

Awsume job by Devita and the D played behind him. G looked relaxed and in control of the game from the first to the last pitch. Our prayers and concerns are with the Driffmeyer kid....please let us know how he is.

Our prayers and concerns are with the Ryle community and Cooper family. Hopefully, Dustin is okay. Please post an update when we know something concrete.

Thanks Baby D...the players and coaching staff as well as the fans did have more then baseball on their minds this morning....but they drew on Mr. Coopers simple phliosophy...its life- live it. Ya wanna wax surf boards....wax surfboards. He will be missed.

This game had to be a very very very tense game. With the passing of Mr. Cooper for the Raiders, and the heat's getting to Driffmeyer it sounds like a somewhat somber game. The prayers are flowing from Villa fans, our hearts go out to all!

The seniors to be definitely have some big shoe's to fill.

Any update on how Driffmeyer is doing?

No word yet....but it would be great if Coach Moore could post his condition when he finds out. I would imagine they took him to St Luke on Turfway, but I don't think they would tell you anything unless you were family.

I know the Raiders will be playing with heavy hearts from here on out...one game at a time, and win it for your principal! GOOD LUCK RAIDERS!

Dustin is doing well. His heartbeat became very irregular halfway through the game. They ran an EKG and a few other tests at the hospital, but he seemed to be okay. Not sure whether or not this was heat induced, but I would imagine it was. I am sure he would appreciate everyone's concern.

Nice game by Ryle today. They are a fundamentally sound ball club. I wish them the best of luck.

Good news on Dustin and all Raider fans are glad he is OK.

Glad to hear Dustin should be okay. Great kid and competitor.

Good Luck to the Ryle faithful.

There is another thread about Randy Cooper in the general discussion that has some heartfelt posts about a great guy.

Prayers and comfort to all of those effected by his passing.

Thanks for filling us in on Dustin, you could tell he was working hard to win a ballgame. Hopefully, if there is a problem, this incident allowed Dustin to have it looked at early. Good luck to Coach Moore and the Juggs next year.
