I'd say that deserves a B+, if you got the goal scores correct it would be worthy of an A+.

CCH really controlled the game from start to finish but their efforts in the final third were a little lacking. I have McNick with a single shot on goal and it was a good one that Romes made a great save on in the first half. A good physical effort by CCH, using much of the bench in the first half paid off as they wore McNick down in the second half. The margin should have been more really.

 

Story of the year so far for CCH is their defense. Darpel, Flynn, Massie and Thiemann totally shut down the two speedy (but small) McNick forwards. Fastest CCH team I've seen in a long time.

 

Goals in the second half by Lamb and Massie to finish McNick off.

Interesting..some previous game reports have indicated the Colonels have had some serious breakdowns on defense.

With 10 games in the book, CCH has given up only 6 goals. 0.6 goals per game average, with one of the toughest schedules played. And a few of the goals scored were when the starting 4 weren't in.....Holmes pk for example......Well done big D.

 

Also, 3 goals and 4 assists have been contributed by those defenders this year for CCH.

They are certainly not perfect by any means, their communication and accuracy when playing the ball out of the back continues to be lacking but they are making up for it with hustle. Speed and athleticism helps a lot too. Looks like they will have another good test vs. Montgomery County tomorrow but I'm not familiar with them at all. Looks like they handled Madison Central pretty easily.

Convincing win by CCH. The Colonels sure seem like the real deal this year. Saturday should be a good test back on this side of the river, but I fully expect a NKY win.

Impressive win, more so given McNicholas pounded Highlands 6-1?

With the exception of Summit on October 6, will CCH be tested the rest of the way in the regular season?

Montgomery Co…maybe?

I think the MoCo game tomorrow will be a good test. CCH may be without Bryce Day for that game due to a conflict w/ a college visit I believe but not sure about that.

Do not be fooled by the score line of the Montgomery v Madison Central game. Montgomery had about 8 shots to Madison Central's 20 or so. Only difference was Shkrabba put the few chances he got in the back of the net. Two great results for Montgomery this week but I would be shocked if they will be able to do the same against the CCH back line
