He actually plays at TFA.

This is in part what I alluded to in an earlier post when predicting an Elder 2-0 win, the CCH defense has work to do.

Is Nurre injured, whats going on? I thought he was starting C back earlier in the season, he didn't see the field against Elder.

 

He's been sick for awhile but I thought is available to play but not sure. I agree there is work to do back there from a technical standpoint. The give and go from Elder was working all night and there was too much ball watching as well.

CovCath was lucky not to have Elder score on a few other attempts, but I can say the same about Elder.......

 

The goal came from giving #10 about 2 feet of open space to line up a goal. He beat two defenders to the sideline to retrieve the ball, made 3 very quick moves to get an angle, and side netted it.......very nicely done......

No doubt it was a great finish and I would say he had less then 2 feet of space, maybe a foot or less, of course you only need to the width of the ball space to score.

 

Not blaming the CCH keeper but from my angle the original ball played over the top a bit by Elder could have been picked up by the CCH keeper but for some reason (maybe he was concerned with Sabato's speed) he stayed back allowing Sabato to get to the ball. And as OTB84 says "beat 2 defenders" then another and then hit a text book finish. So again not the CCH keeper's fault but if he comes out to gather the original ball played in, this game could have been a 0-0 tie.

I thought the same thing on the ball played in but those decisions are split second and normally, if a defender is on the ball I'd prefer to have the keeper stay back but in this case it didn't work out.

Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the player.......were you surprised that it was a baseball metaphor?

Could he, should he have been defender better on this play, yes.

Sabato (I assume) has beat a lot of teams and will beat a lot of teams with plays like the one had yesterday on Wooten Field.
