If you are unfamiliar, the Maher Rankings are an objective statistically sound and proven method of ranking sports teams. We've been ranking Kentucky high school soccer since 2011, more recently adding Ohio soccer, and Kentucky basketball.

 

The rankings are based solely on scores and home field advantage. As such, a preseason ranking is based on historical results. We make no attempt to factor in lost seniors or starters due to graduation - to hard to get the data! So go easy on us for a few weeks.

I see Scott dropping off this list very fast...

After about two weeks Scott will be off the list but who will work their way on the list. Brossart would have to be a consideration and the winner of highlands v st Henry on Thursday. Although highlands does have trinity ( 8/29)so that would be a chance to improve. Not sure if the Anderson game will be considered in the Maher rankings. Ryle plays in the Lexington showcase next weekend so that will be a chance to see how nky stacks up against some good competition.

CCH hosts trinity on Saturday.

The only games that the system does not consider are those against out of state competition. All other games factor into a team's ranking.
