Central Hardin 38 Bardstown 6 (Scrimmage)

Recommended Posts

Central Hardin started out on defense, gave up 1 first down, forced a punt

Central Hardin scored on 1st play from scrimmage on a run up the middle by Darius Barbour for 65 yards. Central Hardin defense 3 and out, scored on 3rd down on run around left side by Xavier Arnette for 60 yards. Austin Pence receiver, long run for 55 yard for TD. Other TDs were after long drives of more than 6 plays.

All points came in 1st half, second half was played mostly by JV team

Central offense looks fast, strong up front, block well. QB Reece Iler did have 1 pick on a pass down the middle but also completed several passes of 20 or more yards.

Place kicker has strong leg, kicked it to end zone 3 times.

Punter needs some work, net punting yards average 30.

Defense allowed Bardstown to get to the edge too many times, allowed a long TD down sidelines but made another goal line stand in 3rd QTR.

Bardstown did have a QB /Receiver tandem that had jets though.

Overall good performance by Central Hardin.

Will be challenged this week in practice to come up with a good game plan for Boyle County.

Curious how the line matchups went. Bardstown has some strong individuals up front, but the overall unit itself was hit hard by graduation. Overall, they should be pretty good at LB and secondary, and this should be a good prep for them since CH should be a good team this year. Will probably be Oct. 16 before they see another team of this caliber.

Central Hardin O line blocked well during running plays, QB Iler didn't have much time on some drop back pass plays. Central d line stout up the middle, was beaten on the edge a few times by speed of Bardstown. Central can go 2 deep on both sides of the ball minus QB position. Bardstown was able to run up the middle a few times at the beginning of the game for 5- 10 yards, and toss sweep game Central problems.
