Pikeville @ Prestonsburg 8/21 (Discussion/Predictions)

Featured Replies

Pikeville and P'burg renew their rivalry on opening night(8/21) at P'burg. Both teams lost a lot of talented players to graduation but return enough talent to make noise in their respective classes.

Dalton Frasure (P'burg) & Daric Pugh (P-ville) are two of the best backs around and I'd venture a guess that with each team having to start new QB's that the running game will be featured heavily, these backs may each end up with 30+ carries in this one.

What a great game to open up the season. I may venture over for that one, it is on Friday right?

Yes I'm fairly sure it is, the KHSAA also has it for fri (8/21) on both teams page.

Last year was an instant classic.

Can't help but think Pburg just has way too many holes to fill especially up front.

Agree. Pburg took a hit on the line a little more than the Panthers did. Both teams will break in new qbs., and look for a "run fest " between Frasure for Pburg, and Pugh for Pikeville. The Panthers are certainly blessed at the wr position this season. Look for more carries from fb Blake Charles. The Panthers will replace two on the off. line after graduation loss. Imo, Pikeville wins this one by returning a little more talent.
