Sport pro
Who are some of the top freshman players coming up for the 8th region both offensive and defensive?
keepinitreal
Baileigh Young - Owen County. Should have started for Owen as an 8th grader. She had a great summer playing with the NKY Stealers.

RCC9
Rachel Gabbard has started for Highlands at 2nd base for the last two years (since 7th grade). Great glove and hitting just over 300 for the last two years against pretty good competition. Also Morgan Coffey and Chloe Jansen should have some impact on this year's team. They have dressed Varsity and lettered since 7th grade as well with periodic starts in the outfield.

Sport pro
Gallatin, Henry or Carroll have anyone coming up? Owen also has a pitcher that will be a 9th grader. She should be their number 1 pitcher this year if the coach play Freshman.
blueandblack14
Carson Murray won quite a few games for Collins in the circle last season (including vs. Butler, Anderson County, and 2 region tournament games) as an 8th grader and was just as good at the plate. Carson is going to be a really good player. I was able to see her play a couple games last year.
greenandpurple
I would just like to say to the Freshman coming in...... Enjoy every second you have on the dirt, those 4 years go so quickly! I remember when my DD was playing JV as a 7th grader and Varsity as an 8 grader and I thought I had All the time in the world to watch her. She has chosen not to play College Ball to pursue being a Dr. She had an amazing 4 years and I will always have that. Being able to play a sport is a precious thing, cherish it. Bobbythe Brain
Collins has several young girls. The 1st baseman from Shelby County transferred to Collins. She will be a freshman. Good player.
Badger
Baileigh Young is very solid everywhere on the field. I'm sure she will do very well at the High School level this year. She will likely have another very productive summer with the Stealers as well. Fun player and fun team to watch.
Sport pro
Couldn't agree with you more. She is a great infielder and her knowledge of the game makes her a even better player. Looking forward to see what the future has for her. I know she didn't get varsity playing time last season due to their coach and not playing younger players. If he doesn't play her this year and justify that he has 9 other players better than her then they should win the State cause they will be the team to beat. I have watched her play for a long time both travel and Middle school and JV. She also can hit and put the bat on the ball in any situation.
