SportsGuy41017
The UFC has fired legandary Jacob "Stitch" Duran, which isn't popular with fans or fighters. The new exclusive deal that the UFC has with Reebok caused stitch to lose his own sponsors, and the UFC only offered a "garbage" salary. The firing was just one day after publication of his displeasure with the new base salary, which is also upsetting to UFC fighters as they see that they now cannot speak their minds. dolamite
As much as I love the UFC and how it is ran, this one irks me to no end. I keep hating the Reebok deal more and more.
SportsGuy41017
I love the UFC, Ike how they package the events ect.. But I hate how they run the organization. It's either their way,!or they make it rough on you or show you the door. And as I have stated before, I hate the Reebok deal, and the Reebok stuff is garbage, the "teams" look like male cheerleaders. I wouldn't take one of it was given to me for free. dolamite
All about MONEY, not sure anyone else would make a different decision if it were their business. I get it brings them big sponsorship dollars and it may help the lower level fighters make a little extra cash who do not have sponsors. BUT, I hate the fact that it takes the freedom of choice away from the fighters. I don't think they should be forced to wear the gear and I really hate its took away the corner posters with all the sponsors on them. Plus I like the other MMA gear a lot better, brands like Venum, Tapout, Hayabusa, etc. I'm sure the fighters do too.
paNDA
My favorite UFC time period was around UFC 1. It has evolved to be a whole different animal now.

halfback20
I'm in agreement regarding the reebok deal. It won't hurt the big fighters but I'd bet it kills the lower level guys who depend on sponsor money.
SportsGuy41017
Lower guys it will help to ensure money from Reebok. Big guys will lose out on personal sponsorship and fight night sponsorship. Such as my friend Erick Silva, he will lose about 12K USD per month with the Reebok deal. Stitch is sponsored by BadBoy, with Reebok that had to go. But under the Reebok agreement they didn't include cut men. So they can't get in on the Reebok deal, and they are not allowed to have their own sponsors.
