Matthew Sparks and Aaron Snyder of The Daily Independent set off this week to cover practices of local area teams. In this article they cover Greenup County, Fairview, Ashland, and Raceland.

I love The Independent's coverage of area teams, they do a great job.

Looks like some area teams are expecting a lot of success this season.

Agreed, the Independent does an outstanding job. A. Snyder has been covering a lot of Raceland games and related stories in the last few years and imo he does a fantastic job as most all of their reporters do on coverage of all teams.

Don't forget Raceland Alumni, Mathew Sparks, on The Independent sports staff.

They truly are top notch.

I have always been a fan of that staff in particular Aaron Snyder and Mark Maynard.

Not only are they very creative and constantly giving material, they spread the love around it seems and they also do very well written feature pieces when there are storylines beyond just the playing field.

If any of those guys read BGP..and I am sure they probably do.. consider me a fan even if I don't support a NEKY team. :thumb:

And, their football and basketball tabloids are as good as anyones that I have ever seen.

:thumb: Both Aaron and Mark are as good as their are anywhere, large or small markets. As Ram said, we at Raceland have an alum on the Independent staff now and he is doing well. He certainly has some very good ones to learn from.

Now if we could just get Dickie Martin on the staff to add some controversy we would have a complete group lol.
