June 20, 201511 yr Sunday afternoon into early evening parts of Kentucky are in a slight risk area for strong to severe thunderstorms. The main threats look to be severe hail, damaging winds, and maybe a tornado or two. The main threat area is north of a line from around around Marion through just south of Ashland. Most of Kentucky will be dry tonight. With mostly sunny skies during the day on Sunday, temps will be in the 90's. Some may see a heat index in the 100's. I will update in the morning.
June 21, 201511 yr Author Really no change to last night's outlook. As of now the timing for these storms looks to be between 12 pm to 8 pm EDT.
June 21, 201511 yr Author Afternoon update: The storms now look to be in Kentucky between 4-8pm EDT. It looks like we should have organized line/bowing storms. That mean the tornado while it can't be completely ruled out is very low. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. Thunderstorm Outlook
June 21, 201511 yr Author I'm going to go ahead and go into severe weather threat mode. I just read the mesoscale discussion that was just issued for our area.It was released as I was posting my afternoon update. A severe thunderstorm watch maybe issued in an hour or so.
June 21, 201511 yr Could not have asked for a more beautiful day here. Low 80's, breezy, low humidity. Talked to friends at Kings Island and they said the same there. For a day that was supposed to be low 90's and high humidity, something was missed somewhere.
