mcpapa Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Excellent lineup this coming season. Includes Cinderella, Motown, Phantom and Wicked. Daughter bought season tickets.:thumb:
All Tell Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I plan to see them all. Saw Cinderella in New York. It's worth seeing just to see the costume changes on stage. Wicked and Phantom in the same season is great, throw in Beauty and the Beast and it goes to awesome.
mcpapa Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Daughter had a nice run at the local high school. Was in Big River, Beauty and the Beast, Camelot and Les Mis.
All Tell Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I really enjoy watching HS theater productions. When they are well done you forget you're watching HS kid perform.
Getslow Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I had a little sister, so I watched the film version of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella about 50 times. She would just watch it over and over again. I think the one I'm most curious about is Cabaret. Won a Tony a couple years ago for the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall revival that's coming to town. I usually don't get to more than a couple of them each year.

We had a couple of classes in a row with wonderful talent. Guy that played Gaston was outstanding; worked at Stephen Foster story for a while. Les Mis was by far the best of them - same guy played Valjean; guy that played Javert was in the Cardinal singers at U of L for 4 years. Daughter played Mme. Thenardier; it was nice to get about $8K per year from Georgetown College for her to sing. She was the 2009 NATS college freshman winner in the classical category. This looks to be a fantastic season at the Arts Center!
