*It was unofficial because the race had ended but clockers also believe Secretariat would have set a record for 1 5/8 miles and 1 3/4 miles on his gallop out after winning the 1 1/2 mile Belmont.

 

* There were 5617 winning tickets on his Belmont that were never cashed.

 

*When Citation won the Triple Crown he won the Derby by 3 1/2, the Preakness by 5 1/2. and the Belmont by 8. In between the Preakness and the Belmont he won the Jersey Derby by 11.
