swamprat Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I had to go into work at 6 this morning. I took my normal route, but was blocked by a couple of Sheriff's Deputies before I got halfway there. Had to circle back and around another way. I knew something bad had happened when I saw the news vans there .... TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies have re-opened W. Linebaugh Ave near Gretna Green Dr. in Westchase after a fatal crash Monday morning. Deputies say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Linebaugh Ave. around 2:20 a.m. Monday morning when the driver lost control in the right hand curve of Gretna Green Drive. The vehicle, a 1999 Lexus sedan, was split in at least two pieces when it struck a tree, ejecting the driver into the median of the road. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Matthew McDonaldo of Oldsmar, was pronounced dead on scene. Roads around the scene of the crash were closed until about 8 a.m. He had to have been really moving on. That curve is not anything close to severe.
