Musical "curve-balls"

Some musical acts will sometimes throw their fans a "curve" and write a song, or even cover a song, that would give that "V8" moment. So what song/songs from some of the groups you like made you say WOW!!!! And that "WOW" can be good or bad.

 

There are two that made me think off starting this thread.....1st, from their 1992 album, Angel Dust, Faith No More with their cover of the Commodores classic, "Easy"......nailed it!!

The other is from their 1990 multi-platinum album, Pornograffitti, Extreme and " When I First Kissed You". To this day my mom still loves this song.

Rod Stewart's covers of Standards from the "Great American Songbook".

 

The 2 factors that make me like them so much are the arrangements, and the charm that he brings to the performances.

 

I would never have expected that from him.
