Congrats to the Lady Breds on the victory. They took advantage, like you are supposed to do, of some Bird errors and poor officiating. Typical HHS/NCC one run Battle.

Too bad the plate Ump missed this one... Typically I don't complain much about umps because usually when they're bad they are at least consistent with both teams. The last time I said anything about umps being poor was the State Tournament. And this guy was at least that bad. Strike zone was whatever he felt like on that pitch. First two innings shoulders was the top of the zone then later belt high was a ball. Im a homer, but even BGH was laughing at the calls against the Birds. Key point in the game, count is one and one runner on first steals second, batter swings through... Strike not recorded. Next pitch is a ball and ump calls the count at 2-1... Batter ends up getting a hit... Does it really matter then? Of course it does... You call a totally different pitch with the correct count. NCC scores 3 in the inning with two outs and some un-timely errors.

Box score

NCC 3. 4. 1

HHS 2 6. 4

Schreiber. 2-3 with a SB for NCC

Meyers 6ks 2bb 6 hits. 1 earned run

Dutcher 3-3 2b

Graybill 1-3 2b

Spencer 6ks 1 bb 4 hits no earned runs

You know your softball.

Congrats to Ncc on a nice REGULAR season upset win.
